I have heard it is said that an excellent way to judge the quality of a person is to take look at the people who choose to be his (or her) friend. The theory seems to be that if enough people who possess the qualities of integrity, reliability, intelligence, and compassion call themselves your friends, there must be some good reason for them to stick around.

I hope that there is some truth to this point-of-view, because if there is, it can only reflect well on me. My friends possess all the best human qualities and much more. I can not, with a clear conscience, claim to to be worthy of such friends but I am grateful that these excellent people see something worthwhile in me.

In the best of times, my friends provide me with entertainment, stimulation, and companionship. In times of need, none of my true friends has ever let me down.

To all of my friends, I would like to say: "Thank you for being such total partiers!"
