Sarah and Jason's Wedding
Our wedding will likely be unlike any other you have attended. This is because we are trying to incorporate aspects of each of our backgrounds and beliefs and have constructed a ceremony that will have meaning for each of us individually, for our families, and for our life together.
Sarah was born in Beijing and has lived in Toronto for more than five years; Sarah became a Canadian Citizen in March of 2004. Jason grew up in Montreal and moved to Toronto at the age of fourteen. Neither of us is religious which is one of the things makes our relationship strong. Nevertheless, we both have close ties to our cultures and traditions.
We each come from close and devoted families and we both have a strong attachment to our family and cultural history. We have designed a wedding ceremony that will help us honour our histories while we celebrate our commitment to each other.
Many weddings represent a new beginning for both partners; the start of a new life together. We feel, however, that we have already made our commitment to each other and have already begun our life together. We have each been lovingly received by the other's family and have been welcomed by each others friends.
For us, the wedding ceremony and party that will follow represent an opportunity for us to share our happiness and good fortune with our closest friends and family. It has been a beautiful rewarding experience for us to join our lives and families together and we feel compelled to share our joy with those who are closest and most important to us.
